The POLICE CRIME SENTENCING AND COURT BILL. 23rd March action day.

WHAT IS RA-T?

RA-T is a decentralized network of mostly squatters committed to direct actions to resist the criminalisation of our existence!

WHAT IS THE RA-T (word hidden before 23rd) FOR TRESPASS’ PROJECT?

It is our response to the repressive and authoritarian POLICE CRIME SENTENCING AND COURTS BILL, which CRIMINALISES the ACT OF PROTEST, as well as any attempt to trespass with the intention to reside. 

On top of destroying our basic rights to resist the racist sexist police state, this bill CRIMINALISES THE LIVES OF ALREADY VULNERABLE AND DISCRIMINATED GROUPS OF PEOPLE: especially NO FIXED ABODE communities.

WHAT ARE WE DOING EXACTLY TODAY?

We are giving free (*** can’t say the word before day of action) to anyone who wants (it) to show trespass is about mutual aid. If the bill passes, we would be committing a crime, and so would you by coming in and getting (it).

TRAVELLERS:

1,696 traveller households are waiting for legal pitches in England and only 13 sites are available. If this bill passes, these travellers will be deemed criminals for simply existing, and could be put in jail for 3 months, given a £2,500 fine, lose their vans, and be banned from the area for 12 months. 

SQUATTERS:

The housing crisis is worse than ever, and SQUATS ARE HOMES! Squatting is an act of self-determination, an affirmation of AUTONOMY and MUTUAL AID. There are way more abandonned buildings than homeless people. Housing is a human right!

ROUGH SLEEPERS:

Rough sleepers will be criminalised for sleeping outside. Only 8% of land in the UK is public. (With half of Britain being owned by less than 1% of the population).

This bill is social cleansing! By CRIMINALISING vulnerable people, this bill further entrenches discrimination against them. Having a criminal record makes finding housing or a job more difficult.
